XR-1300 Plug-In Throttle
The XR1300 plug-in throttle is our most economical throttle available.
It’s rugged two-conductor phone-plug means it can handle many years of abuse without a complaint.
Controlling a locomotive is simple: plug in the throttle, key in the locomotive number and you’re ready to roll.
The throttle plugs into the CVP fascia plate described below with a coiled cord that stretches to 20 feet.
When you are out of cord, simply unplug the throttle and move to another fascia plate.
The train will continue to run as you move between sockets.
The throttle does not require any batteries.
It is lightweight and comfortable even during long operating sessions.
Quantity discounts start when you buy two or more throttles.
And the quantity discount can be applied if you order another XR1300 throttle when you purchase your Extended Starter System.

Simple Installation
Adding the plug-in throttle requires the installation of a the throttle bus, also called a T-Bus.
A small circuit board, called an Extender, is connected to the Command Station with an included 7 foot modular cable.
Inexpensive TV coaxial cable connects the Extender to all of the Fascia Plates mounted on the front of the layout.
The throttle plugs into the fascia plate.
Each Extender can power up to 10 plug-in throttles.
Additional Extenders can be added to power more throttles or to drive additional runs of T-Bus cable to opposite ends of your layout.

Fascia Plate
This plate is provides two side-by-side sockets in which to plug your walk-around throttles.
Interconnecting the fascia plates is done with inexpensive, readily available coax cable and twist-on plugs.
The Fascia Plate is available either fully assembled or as a kit.
Each contains a pre-punched and painted metal face plate, the circuit board, two F-type jacks, two headphone sockets and two twist-on coaxial cable plugs.
If building the kit, only simple soldering is needed and takes about 5 minutes.
No special tools are needed for assembly.
The metal faceplate can also be purchased separately.

Throttle Bus Extender Board
This little circuit board drives your throttle bus and is called an “Extender.”
It is designed to mount under the layout near the Command Station.
Use multiple Extenders for large layouts.
The Basic Extended Starter System includes this board, its transformer and a modular cable to connect back to the Command Station. There is no limit to the number of extenders that may be used.
More Extenders can be added to the Command Station to connect additional wireless receivers or if more than 10 plug-in walk-around throttles are to be used.
Each Extender comes with a 7 foot modular cable and a twist-on coax cable plug.

Extender Transformer
The 20VA transformer - 12VAC @1A - has plenty of power for your throttle-bus Extender circuit board.
One transformer can be shared with another Extender circuit board. Screw terminals make for quick hookup.
For use in the Americas and Japan only. Plugs into any 110VAC outlet.
Output wires are stripped and tinned and about 72 inches in length.
Primary is protected with internal fuse.
Energy Star Level-IV and ROHS compliant

Plugs and Jacks
The throttle bus cable is nothing more than inexpensive TV “RG59-coax” cable and connects all the fascia plates to the Extender.
Coax cable is readily available at stores such as Radio Shack.
Be sure to obtain copper braided coax since it works much better with the twist-on plugs.
Connecting the coax to the fascia plate is done with "twist-on" connectors also called plugs.
Each fascia kit contains two plugs. After stripping the coax cable, these connectors simply screw on to the cable.
No special tools or soldering required.
The F-jack is mounted on the fascia plate circuit board.
Two come with each fascia plate kit.
There is room for one more optional jack if needed.
